GRB Weekly Highlights

Hello and welcome to the first of my weekly updates from the world of GRB!

With BT cancelling their graduate recruitment programme for 2010 all eyes were on any other big names recruiters’ following suit. Luckily, so far, this case has been isolated. I can understand how this action will save money in the short term but it creates massive problems for succession planning when they seek to pick rising stars to become mangers and future board members. Where will they turn to? Probably recruitment agencies like ours who have a huge talent pool of graduates like you! Let's wait and see what happens...

In the meantime we continue to be very busy placing graduates up and down the country. This week for example we helped recruiters hire Electrical Engineers, English Literature, Philosophy, Maths, Economics and Management graduates. Recession? What recession! We also placed a graduate with four years work experience so even if you graduated a while ago you are still in demand. Other success stories include two members of the GRB team being promoted to Senior Recruitment Consultants due to their fantastic billing record this year. The only bad news in the office was the cancelling of the Beachdown Festival in Brighton which left some of the team on a beachdowner!

Finally, we speak to graduates and students every day and especially love meeting them at events across the UK. It would be great to meet everyone and talk to them about their needs and wants but that's not possible so instead if you have any comments, suggestions and ideas then please drop me a line or visit our new forum. If enough people ask for it we'll do it! Have a great week and speak to you soon.
